At the date of this review there is no real alternative to this game that i am aware of.
Natural Selection is a epic, super amazing rts/fps hybrid. There are 2 Factions Aliens and Marines. Both playable. Marines are the typical fps shooter type. Alines are mostly melee and hard to play if you are unfamiliar with NS. Every Team has a commander that overviews the map as an strategic supervisor. His purpose is to build up a base and command the players around the map. While the Alien Commander is more independent from his subjects Marines require good teamwork to overcome the aliens.
Pros: -Original Idea, -Super Fun, -Rts and Fps in one game i like the idea of a player driven RTS, -Its easy to get into it as a marine player, follow commands shoot the aliens.
Cons: -the playerbase is very small -therefore no matchmaking you are quite likely to face experienced players even on "rookie" servers -Commanders are hard to play and there are few good ones, -Lerning to play the diffrent alien classes is hard because the are mostly melee u need to utlize the map to get in close -therefore the marine side is always overloaded
