Nightmare TV is a native IPTV and live-TV player for Windows 10/11, Android TV, Fire TV, Android phones and tablets, and macOS, built on a custom libmpv engine. Bring your own playlist: M3U, Xtream Codes, XMLTV. Player only: it does not host, provide, bundle or sell any channels, streams or subscriptions.

Maximum recording file size setting (1 to 10 GB or unlimited): at the limit a new part opens with no gap, each part starts on a keyframe, so FAT32 USB sticks and SD cards work. Movie recordings no longer stop on their own when the source drops the download: the recorder reconnects, continues from the last second written and joins the parts when you stop. Record on Android: press Record on a phone, Android TV or Fire TV, keep recording while you switch apps or lock the screen, schedule from the guide, and choose any folder including USB or SD. The recording engine ships inside the Windows app, nothing to download or set up. Timeshift on live channels: pause, rewind and return to the live edge. Interlaced live channels play without torn edges, with field order, deinterlace rate and noise reduction controls in Settings.

ENGINE AND FEATURES:

Custom libmpv build: HEVC Main10, AV1, VP9, DTS-HD MA, EAC3, PGS subtitles, plus the deinterlacing filters most prebuilt binaries leave out. BT.2390 HDR tone-mapping for HDR10 and HLG, BT.2020 handled correctly. Frame-rate matching: the display switches to an exact multiple of the content rate (23.976 to 120 Hz, 50 to 100 Hz) on Windows and Android. Dolby Atmos, DTS-X and TrueHD bitstream passthrough over HDMI, WASAPI exclusive on Windows. Off by default so nobody loses sound on an incompatible receiver. Hardware accelerated decode: D3D11VA on Windows, platform decoder on Android. Serverless DVR: schedule per-programme recordings, follow a programme to record every airing, or follow a keyword so matching programmes are scheduled for you. Recordings live in an in-app library and a running recording can be watched from the start. XMLTV EPG with multi-day timeline, natural-language search, per-channel EPG fixes, catch-up where the provider offers an archive. Multi-view up to 4 streams, picture in picture, M3U editor, country grouping, TMDB metadata, profiles, PIN and child mode. Cloud Sync: AES-256-GCM end-to-end encrypted favourites, continue watching and settings.

PRIVACY: no accounts. Telemetry is off by default and opt-in only; playlists and viewing history never leave the device.
