Monitor your email alerts service and detect that it's stopped working before your users complain.

Monitor your backup service emails and detect that your backup notifications are not coming through (and perhaps backups are broken!) before you lose data.

Monitor your website's password reset functionality and detect when it breaks before it annoys your users.

notimon provides users with a mailbox that it will monitor for expected emails. Users subscribe that mailbox to the email service to be monitored, and then configure the expected threshold within which emails should arrive for everything to be considered ok.

Password reset can be monitored by configuring a website uptime check like uptimedoctor to POST to your password reset form, then checking whether the reset emails arrive in notimon.
