What is nTilia?

nTilia is a Markdown notes app built for field work. You capture notes, photos and audio on the device, even without a network. When you are back online, you can edit, translate and publish. Nothing is sent to the cloud unless you choose to. AI edits go through a Before / After review and are never applied without your accept.

Notes are plain Markdown. A Mission is a folder for one trip: notes, audio and metadata export as a ZIP. An optional encrypted vault keeps device-only notes on the phone. Transcription can run on the device, so audio does not have to leave it. Pro also includes Travel Mode: empty the device at a checkpoint and keep a copy with a safe recipient.

A public journal is available if you want to be read: French and English, with versions and a correction note. Each article has a Cite block (APA, Chicago, BibTeX, RIS, JATS) and declared co-authors with ORCID. From Pro, one click deposits a preprint PDF and the Markdown source to Zenodo, CERN’s open archive; the DOI flows into every citation and the deposited copy outlives nTilia.

The free plan is enough to write, capture, organise and publish. Paid plans add on-device transcription, Travel Mode, a Zenodo DOI, more editing assistance, and journal indexing. nTilia is made by SamionX in Belgium. It is a web app you can install as a PWA. Native App Store builds are not available yet.
