My experience with PayPal customer support was very disappointing. I reached out because I no longer had access to my old phone number and couldn’t update it, since the system required verification through that number. I still had full access to my account and login details. Both times I contacted support, it was by phone, so I relied entirely on their guidance. During the first call, the representative told me that the only solution was to delete my existing account and create a new one. I...

I have been using Paypal for a very very long time now and i havnt run into any issues yet. ive been making online payments for a while and never had a problem so i love the app!
Paypal suck. Their Automatic Renewal is tricky. Some firms do it automatically because you surely will forget it the first months. Firms are usally quiet about this. I also blame Paypal's labyrinth interface, which can also be very difficult to find out. Their support is just crap. They don't help you with anything. They refused me to change my surname even though it is started you should provide them with proof. I scanned my passport and driver license and still after 3 months they dodn't answer me. Right know im happy, because I find out how to close my paypal account!

I was assured my information would be transferred. So, trusting that advice, I followed it exactly. But right after creating the new account, I was required to complete identity verification. When I called back and explained that I had simply followed their instructions, I was told nothing could be done until I uploaded my ID. I even asked if they could close the new account or just remove my phone number, since I couldn’t do either myself, but I received the same response. Verify first, then maybe. I also pointed out that my previous account had been actively used and was already linked to my financial details, including my personal bank account and other payment information. So it was hard to understand why, after following their advice, I was suddenly unable to get any help or even a clear commitment that my original issue would be resolved. My frustration is not with identity verification itself. It’s that I followed the exact solution proposed by their own support, and ended up in a more complicated situation, without a clear solution. I expected clearer guidance, more responsibility for the advice given, and a more customer-focused experience, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
Worst payment system ever, huge fees, toxic marketing and emailing, change terms of use every week, ban account for no reason, terrible support.
privacy nightmare
While PayPal is widely used internationally, its convenience varies by country. Some users have a smoother experience than others. The currency conversion rates are not always favorable, and many face high fees. Additionally, the terms of service can be complex and restrictive, leading to account limitations, sometimes just for receiving slightly more money than usual. Because of these issues, I’ve had a better experience with other services.
Always block some card or transfer. But easy for foreign purchases.
