What is Photanchor?

Photanchor is a local-first macOS safety dashboard for Apple users who rely on iCloud Drive and Photos. It scans iCloud Drive and Photos metadata locally, highlights files that appear local, cloud-only, waiting, or possibly stuck, and helps users create a non-destructive verified second copy on their own drive. Photanchor does not upload photos, files, file paths, scan results, manifests, checksums, or Photos metadata. It is not a Time Machine replacement and does not copy cloud-only files until they are downloaded locally.
