Hi, I'm the developer behind this plugin.

I built it because I run several WordPress sites myself and got tired of paying a monthly fee to a hosted shortener just to create a few branded links and track clicks. Everything a shortener needs, a database and a web server, is already sitting there on any WordPress hosting plan, so self-hosting it seemed like the obvious fix.

The free version on WordPress.org covers link shortening, automatic QR codes, click analytics, and link-in-bio pages, no account with us required to use it. Visitor IPs are never stored, only a salted hash, and there's no per-visitor tracking to any third party.

What is Plugnova Link Shortener & QR?

Plugnova Link Shortener & QR turns a WordPress site into a self-hosted link shortener running on your own domain. Instead of paying a monthly fee to a hosted shortener, you create short links like yoursite.com/go/offer, and every click is recorded in your own database.

Every short link can generate a customizable QR code automatically — PNG or SVG, with square, rounded or circle styles, custom colors, an optional brand logo band, and caption text baked into the image.

Click analytics cover device, browser, operating system, referrer and UTM parameters, with a QR-scan vs. direct-traffic split and CSV export. Country detection runs from an offline database on your own server, so visitor IPs never leave it. IP addresses are never stored — only a salted one-way hash.

It also includes link-in-bio pages hosted on your own domain, with drag-and-drop buttons, product cards, link groups, a social icon row, countdown timers, campaign scheduling and per-button analytics.

Other features: multi-destination URL rotation (round robin, random, weighted), geo and device targeting, password-protected links, expiry dates and click limits, a broken-link checker with a link health score, keyword auto-linking, a REST API, shortcodes, and one-click migration from Pretty Links and ThirstyAffiliates.
