PortableMind is a self-contained offline AI assistant that runs entirely on your own computer, with no internet connection, no account and no subscription. Everything needed to run it lives on a single USB drive: the model weights, the runtime and the interface. Plug the drive in, launch it, and the assistant runs on the host machine's own CPU, GPU and RAM. No prompts leave the device, and there are no API keys or cloud calls involved.
The current release ships a Qwen 3.5 model roster with a built-in model manager, voice mode, multimodal chat, SCOUT Vision with seven field modes for identifying plants, gear and documents from photographs, phone access over a local hotspot, and AES-256 encryption.
Two editions are available. The digital edition is a one-time purchase that delivers a setup key and an updater, which writes PortableMind onto a 64 GB or larger USB drive you already own. Pre-loaded drives are also sold for people who would rather not flash their own, including a higher-speed drive and a version bundled with an offline GPS receiver for United States navigation without a data connection.
It is built for people who need AI where connectivity is unreliable or unwanted: off-grid households, field and emergency work, travel, and anyone who would rather not have their prompts stored on someone else's servers. A published 100-question field benchmark documents the assistant's accuracy with the failing answers left in.
Requirements: Windows 10 or 11, or macOS 12 and later, with a minimum of 8 GB RAM.
