RailScanPro

RailCommand, powered by RailScanPro, is model railroad control and automation software designed as a replacement for TrainController. It brings layout control, signaling, routing, and multi-user dispatching together for individual hobbyists, clubs, and museums.

Design switchboard panels, control turnouts, monitor block occupancy, and coordinate train movements through CTC dispatching. RailCommand uses a graph-based layout model to represent connected track and calculate routes through the railroad. Signaling draws on occupancy, turnout positions, and route reservations to support coordinated operation.

Multi-user dispatching allows operators to share responsibility for a layout and coordinate operating sessions. Train tracking, switchlists, and car forwarding support passenger and freight operations, while scheduling and automation tools help manage repeatable train movements. Integration with supported layout hardware and JMRI connects operating tools to the physical railroad.

Browser-based access supports shared dispatching and coordination across connected devices. This makes RailCommand suitable for both a single operator managing a home layout and a club running sessions with multiple dispatchers and crews.

Integration with the broader RailScanPro platform adds locomotive and rolling stock inventory, AI-assisted identification from photographs, maintenance records, and valuation tracking. Collection information and operating tools are available within the same platform.
