RealTerm is described as 'Terminal program specially designed for capturing, controlling and debugging binary and other difficult data streams. It is far better for debugging comms than HyperTerminal. It has no support for dialing modems, BBS, etc. - that is what HyperTerminal does' and is a terminal emulator in the os & utilities category. There are more than 10 alternatives to RealTerm for Windows, Linux, Mac and FreeBSD. The best RealTerm alternative is Tera Term, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like RealTerm are CoolTerm, CuteCom, YAT - Yet Another Terminal and GtkTerm.
