What is Riplox?

Riplox is a free, open-source yt-dlp GUI for Windows. Paste a link and pick a quality, or pair your phone once and send links to the PC from any app's Share menu - no Docker, no server to run, no port to open, no account to create. Pairing is end-to-end encrypted, and only the link travels: the PC downloads the video on its own connection.

Video up to 8K where a site offers it, or MP3 with cover art and tags. Whole playlists and channel sections in one click with filtering and range select, a queue that runs several at once and survives a restart, subtitles, chapters and SponsorBlock. Convert a finished file, make a GIF, shrink it, or trim a clip without re-encoding. Schedule a download for later. Follow a channel and see new uploads without scraping - it reads the channel's own feed, and fetching them automatically is opt-in and capped.

Everything the paid downloaders put behind a licence is here without one: no daily cap, no single-download limit, no 1080p ceiling, no ads, and themes and a media library included rather than sold as a subscription.

The download engine updates itself from inside the app, so Riplox keeps working when a site changes how it serves video. Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit, with a portable build as well. Released regularly: 1.3.0, 1.4.0, 1.4.1, 1.5.0, 1.6.0.
