What is Rootprint?

Rootprint is an open-source, self-hosted log management and distributed tracing platform, and an alternative to Elasticsearch and Kibana, Graylog, Grafana Loki, Splunk and Datadog for log search. Indexes live on S3-compatible object storage (S3, R2, MinIO, GCS, Azure Blob) and are queried in place, which makes long retention cheap. Ingests OpenTelemetry OTLP over HTTP from the OTel Collector, Vector and Fluent Bit, can pull from Kafka, Kinesis and SQS. Full-text search, field aggregations, histograms, saved views, trace waterfalls, SSO, API keys, exports. Apache 2.0.
