Free as in price, speech, and freedom, with an awesome and mature community!
I'm confused by all the positive reviews. Despite all the claims of free speech/no censorship, it just appears to be an echo chamber for right-wing political views that seem pretty racist.
Is it technically a reddit-alternative? I guess. But it's so vile and gross that I'd rather use the regular reddit site.

Lightweight forum hosting site, albeit one with a really ugly design. It's also centralized, so if it's ever bought or seized, there's nothing they can do
While I do genuinely value critiques of corporate media, this platform suffers from the same shit Voat does. Namely, it's taken over by rightwingers. I appreciate that it's open sourced, but that doesn't make up for the fact that their version of /r/science is full of anti-vaxxers and climate change deniers calling themselves "truth-seekers"
If you find an alternative to corporate media and you just end up with more corporate-pushed worldviews (i.e. climate denialism), you're doing something wrong. Same goes for their politics, but I don't wanna get into that mess
