Scene SizeUp

Scene SizeUp is a browser-based firefighter training and incident command simulation platform designed for departments, instructors, company officers, and firefighters to build and run realistic emergency response scenarios without installing specialized software.

Instructors can create custom training scenes using real-world locations pulled automatically from an address, aerial views (also pulled automatically), building imagery, and other scene backgrounds, then add and position fire, smoke, victims, hazards, fire apparatus, police vehicles, EMS units, and other incident elements. Instructors can define situation levels and even author new situations live as a drill is running. Scenarios can be used for scene size-up, strategy and tactics, incident command, apparatus placement, officer development, tabletop exercises, and department training.

Scene SizeUp also supports live, multi-company incident simulations that go beyond static scene building. Participants can respond to simulated dispatches, communicate using realistic radio traffic, receive changing incident conditions, and make decisions as a scenario develops.

Training sessions can be reviewed after the incident using recorded communications, transcripts, timelines, and performance data, giving instructors a way to discuss not only what decisions were made, but when and why they were made.

Because Scene SizeUp runs in the browser, training can be conducted from different devices and locations without maintaining dedicated Windows PCs or installing specialized simulation software. Departments can use the platform to create repeatable drills based on their own response area and expose personnel to incidents, buildings, and command decisions before encountering them on the fireground.
