spectrwm is a small dynamic tiling window manager for X11. It tries to stay out of the way so that valuable screen real estate can be used for much more important stuff. It has sane defaults and does not require one to learn a language to do any configuration.

Scrot is as it says on the site, minimal with out losing functionality. It maintains everything that's needed by a tiling window manager, and removes all of the extra guff. Because its written in C its extremely lightweight and responsive. As far as configuration is concerned, it uses a small config file in you home folder to control everything. Its status bar can be complimented with bash to give you common read outs and system stats. All in all if you ever want a tillable window manager for X11, please give it a try.
