The one design decision behind SevenGrid: no streaks. Most trackers make a long unbroken chain the reward, and the day you miss one, the number resets and the app quietly tells you that you failed. That reset is a fragile proxy for the thing you actually care about.
The behaviour research points the same way. Lally et al. found a single missed day doesn't meaningfully dent habit formation, and Gollwitzer's work on cues/implementation...

So instead of a streak, SevenGrid shows your whole week as seven boxes, and goals flex ("3x per week" rather than "every day"). Miss a day, nothing breaks.
