What is SSHBorg?

SSHBorg is an SSH and SFTP client for Android aimed at people who administer servers. It provides a full terminal with VT100/xterm emulation, UTF-8 support and multiple concurrent sessions, alongside an SFTP file manager for browsing and transferring files.

Key authentication is handled entirely on the device: Ed25519, ECDSA and RSA keys can be generated locally and are stored using the Android Keystore. Jump host connections through one or more bastions are supported with transparent tunnelling and SSH agent forwarding, as is port forwarding. Access to the app can be protected with a biometric lock and a configurable timeout.

The app requires no account and performs no network activity beyond the SSH connections the user configures. It contains no advertising, no analytics and no third-party SDKs. The SSH protocol implementation is provided by JSch (mwiede fork).

Available in nine languages. Requires Android 10 or later. Released under the GPL-3.0.
