What is StellaWake?

This software helps you keep Windows awake when the PC is in use. Windows will transition to standby if the keyboard and mouse is idle for a long time, except if something is blocking sleep. Programs can signal the system to avoid sleep. This is done my most media playback software (when you are watching videos or listening to music) and also some games will block sleep (but let the screen to be shut down).

However if you run tasks that don't disable Windows sleep by themselves but don't require keyboard and mouse input, you are going to encounter the problem of unwanted sleep phases.

  • PC is streaming video to another room? Windows will go to sleep.
  • Running a very long CPU intensive calculation? Windows will go to sleep.
  • Copying files over network for hours? Windows will go to sleep.

StellaWake will keep your PC awake if these resources are in use. Avoid having to change Windows sleep settings everytime before and after these long running tasks.
