After years of creating my own registry scripts manually or by exporting any entries from the Registry - I discovered a program that makes it easier. I now use SysTracer Pro to take snapshots BEFORE and AFTER I install a program or change the registry. SysTracer not only tracks all changes to the registry, but it has one feature most snapshot programs lack - the option to create .REG files (registry scripts) to repeat or delete any registry changes. It also lets your select which files or registry entries to include in the snapshots.

This program is dangerous: do not use it! I simply ran a snapshot and it completely messed up Windows (11). I had to re-install the whole system.

What is SysTracer?

SysTracer - track registry and file system changes in your computer

SysTracer can scan your system and record information about: • changed files and folders • modified registry entries • installed programs • system services • system drivers • applications that are configured to run at computer startup • running processes • loaded dlls

Each scan operation performed with SysTracer generates a binary image file representing a snapshot of your system.

By comparing snapshots from before and after a new program installation or execution, you can determine which files or registry entries were added, changed, or deleted.
