Tagaini Jisho is the world's best desktop English-Japanese dictionary and vocabulary learning software, at least in my experience, and I've searched far and wide! There are several other good ones, but TJ is comprehensive, tweakable and very useful. I highly recommend it to anyone who has use of an English-Japanese dictionary and (like me) prefers desktop applications over Web "apps".

What is Tagaini jisho?

Tagaini Jisho is a free to use Japanese dictionary. It is available in several languages such as german or french. You can lookup for a lot of information you would as a japanese language student (or as a japanese learning english or other of the available languages). So you can search for words and kanji with very advanced criteria. The software includes many tools such as a study list, training mode and stroke order animations on most kanjis that makes Tagaini Jisho a MUST HAVE software to japanese students especialy because of JLPT related information.
