What is take·notes?

take·notes is a free, open-source tool that turns a YouTube video, web article, arXiv paper, or GitHub repo into a self-contained HTML study note — an executive summary, key points, and a timestamped or sectioned outline, written to your own disk.

It runs as an Agent Skill inside a coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Gemini CLI) rather than as a standalone app, so you'll need one of those already. Includes a browsable gallery of past notes, a closed tag vocabulary, and Markdown/Anki export.
