Tallykins makes it easy to track shared expenses when groups spend money together — holidays, golf trips, stag and hen weekends, sports tours, festivals or any group event. It started as a way to solve a familiar problem for its founders, Jon and Clare Worley: keeping track of who paid for what without it turning into a spreadsheet, an awkward IOU thread, or a sore subject.
Unlike many expense-sharing apps, Tallykins is designed around a simple idea: one person organises the event and everyone else joins free. No complicated onboarding — no friend has to register or hand over a password or email address just to split the cost of a pizza or taxi. The organiser signs in with an existing Apple or Google account and shares a simple join code with the group; from there, anyone can log expenses, split them equally, or exclude people and set custom amounts when costs aren't shared evenly, with balances updating in real time.
Tallykins is ad-free, with no data sold, and built around a fictional world of fluffy bear mascots — Decimalia — that gives the whole experience a lighter touch than the average finance app. It's aimed at established friend groups, sports teams and travel crews rather than flatmates splitting utility bills, summed up in its five-word motto: fluff, friends, and fair shares.
