What is Tellie?

Tellie is a macOS teleprompter that lives in the MacBook notch, right beside the camera, so you can read and still look at the person you are talking to.

It follows your voice. Tellie transcribes what you say, entirely on your Mac, and matches those words against your script to work out where you are in it. Not whether you are speaking: which word. So it waits when you pause, keeps up when you ad-lib, and catches up when you skip ahead or jump to another section.

It is invisible on calls. macOS excludes Tellie's window from screen capture, so Zoom, Teams, Meet, screen recorders and screenshots all get whatever is behind it.

It works on Macs without a notch too (the same strip sits along the top edge), supports 40+ languages, opens Pages, Word, PDF, Markdown and plain text, and can show Keynote speaker notes in the notch (Presenter Magic).

Tellie is free to download. Tellie Pro adds Voice Follow, Stagehand (coaching marks that tell you when a point landed and how much time you have left), Presenter Magic and the after-take debrief for $29 once, on up to 3 Macs, with a 14-day refund. Every new install starts with 10 days of Pro, no card and no sign-up.

Requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) on macOS 14 or later. Made by Steve Chazin, a former Apple marketer, and named after his granddaughter Ellie, who is learning to read.
