What is TextTimeline Importer?

TextTimeline Importer is a free app that copies your text messages off your phone into one file you keep, with every date, time, and sender intact. On a Windows PC or an Apple Silicon Mac it reads SMS, MMS, and iMessage from a local backup of your iPhone and writes a CSV plus a custody manifest. On Android, TextTimeline: SMS Backup backs up SMS and MMS to an XML file on the phone itself, with no internet permission at all. The export runs on your own device. Nothing uploads unless you upload the file yourself, and the apps have no accounts, no analytics, and no cap on how much you export. Optional next step: upload the file to texttimeline.com to search years of messages and build a court-ready transcript.
