What is The Legend of Zelda?

The Legend of Zelda is an Action Adventure Video Game Series created by Japanese game designers Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka, primarily developed and published by Nintendo. The series is a collection of stories from various eras, woven together in the land of Hyrule, and is a heroic tale of Link's destiny surrounding the Triforce with Princess Zelda and Ganondorf.

In an era of chaos and emptiness, the world of Hyrule was created by three goddesses:

  • Din, the goddess of strength, created the land,
  • Nayru, the goddess of wisdom, created order, and
  • Farore, the goddess of courage, created life.

The goddesses left behind the golden sacred triangle - the Triforce - in this land. It grants the wishes of those who touch it. Those who wield the power of the Triforce must possess a balance of strength, wisdom, and courage.

If someone unworthy touches it, it will split into three pieces, which would reside in three chosen individuals:

  • Link - the Triforce of Courage,
  • Princess Zelda - the Triforce of Wisdom, and
  • Ganondorf - the Triforce of Power.
