    I honestly LOVE Tor Browser because it gives me the freedom to search for whatever I'd like and allow me to cover my tracks, there are some things that I just don't need anyone learning about (mostly writing subjects that don't seem...great without context). As a result, I tend to use Tor Browser to freely search the web and look up things that my state tends to censor or obscure from my ability to find.

I see that the Tor Browser is listed as an "alternative" to Tor. Just so people aren't confused, the Tor Browser uses Tor, so it's not technically an alternative. Tor refers to the network of devices running the software, whereas the browser is a modified version of Firefox that works together with the Tor network. It includes plugins like NoScript, which blocks things like Java, JavaScript, and Flash on different websites, and Torbutton, which allows you to easily change configurations on Tor. Nonetheless, the browser is great, and the developers keep making improvements to it!

It's great at what it's trying to do. It's really your only normal alternative at this level, so it's nice that it's actually good. But it's really slow, so I hope it gets some competition someday.

The only way to use the Tor network. Total overkill for most (Tor network is too slow for daily browsing), but the only way to remain truly, relatively anonymous whilst browsing, for whistleblowers, journalists, or those evading the government, really sensitive information.

If you are using it, don't modify settings add extensions, or sign in whilst using it to have best anonymity.

What is Tor Browser?
