it's a good alternative for Tumblr users who don't mind slower pace.
some of the features are lacking: for example, you 1) can't follow tags. i would say, sometimes themed communities can replace this thing. also, 2) no integrated askbox (unless you link to external askbox like Revospring, for example). and 3) no video hosting (you should host it somewhere else and then use embedding feature, 4) no side-blogs (unless you create another account, which is allowed)
but other features, such as long posts, flexible image grid, inline links in post, rich text editor, "tag talks", "read more" cut, embedding & preview for link/video posts - all here.
better aspects: no ads, no transphobic staff, no shadowbanning without explaining why, no "callout posts" culture (it's prohibited).
