What is Unchained Commerce?

Unchained Engine is an open-source, headless, code-first e-commerce framework for Node.js (TypeScript, GraphQL-first API, MongoDB — PostgreSQL-compatible via FerretDB). It ships enterprise features natively: B2B quotations/RFQ, subscriptions/enrollments, event ticketing with Apple/Google Wallet passes, WebAuthn/passkeys, an OCSF audit trail, and an Admin UI with AI copilot. Its built-in MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets AI agents like ChatGPT and Claude browse products, manage carts and place orders directly. Licensed under the EUPL-1.2, fully self-hostable, in production since 2018, built by Unchained Commerce in Zürich, Switzerland.
