VIGIL Gate

VIGIL Gate is a privacy-first browser security extension designed to interrupt potentially unsafe trust transitions during web navigation.

Modern phishing attacks often exploit legitimate workflows such as email, collaboration platforms, shared documents, OAuth flows and familiar login sequences. Users may trust the destination because they trust the workflow that led them there.

VIGIL Gate analyzes navigation context locally in the browser and can introduce a deliberate security checkpoint before selected external, unfamiliar or potentially sensitive destinations are opened. The gate makes the actual destination visible and gives the user an opportunity to reconsider the transition before continuing.

Unlike traditional website reputation tools, VIGIL Gate does not attempt to classify every website as safe or malicious. It focuses on workflow context, destination familiarity and trust transitions.

Key capabilities include unfamiliar-destination detection, lookalike and unusual-domain signals, identity and OAuth context awareness, redirect visibility, explicit user approval and local diagnostic tracing.

VIGIL Gate is local-first by design. It does not require an account or cloud reputation service and does not upload browsing history, workflow activity, credentials or page contents.
