Tested ont the QNAP NAS with the provided package.
Easy to use, just install the Server on the device where your USB-Devices are plugged and download the client on the other machines. The server recognizes all USB-Devices which are plugged into the Server-machine. The VirtualHere-Client is a simple .exe without install. The client connects automatically to the server if it is in the same LAN and shows every USB which is plugged at the server. You can now double-Click on the device you need, and with this you "virtual" plug it into your computer/device and the USB shows up in your local device-tree. The USB-Dvice can not be used by others in the network until you "unplug" it from your device via the VH-Client.
It's a decent way to centralize your USB-Devices. Let's say you use only tablets and/or Laptop-Computers in your home, you can plug Devices like Dongles, Card-Readers etc. into one Machine like your NAS, a Raspberry or similar, and have it available on all machines in your homes. You don't have to remember where you put this USB or where you used it last, just let it plugged to the server.
One thing I don't like: Although the license is affordable (49USD at this date), the developer does only provide a Payment solution where you can purchase only via credit card or G-Pay.

We were not asking for custom features — only how to evaluate the product before buying. That should still get a professional reply.
Good cheap tool if you accept a one-man-shop support model. Poor fit if you need a vendor you can put in front of a customer.
This is the WORST company and customer service ever! After you buy the license and you change the device (because it's broken), they will not reissue you the license or give you a new one/refund, even though the owner states on their forum that they do reissue licenses for new devices. Their customer support is the worst, they are VERY rude and extremely cocky. DO NOT buy from them.
I use VirtualHere for two smartcards that i need on multiple laptops at home. They are attached to my Synology NAS and i can use them on every laptop within seconds.
The support is awsome, i had a problem and it got solved within few hours!
