What is VocalCode?

VocalCode is a push-to-talk voice input app for Windows 10/11 and Apple Silicon Macs. Hold a key, speak, release: punctuated text is typed into the focused field in most desktop apps; a second key sends the text to an AI coding agent such as Claude Code or Cursor. Speech recognition runs on the local CPU after the selected model downloads, and recognition audio and transcripts are not uploaded. Model downloads, updates, trial setup, checkout, activation and periodic licence validation still use the internet. Supports 28 selectable languages across three on-device routes: English plus 24 other European-language previews, Mandarin Chinese with English, and Korean and Japanese. A customizable dictionary corrects technical vocabulary (saying “m c p” types MCP). A one-time purchase of $4.99 plus applicable tax activates one device, after a 30-day full-featured free trial that needs no card.
