Void devs purposefully excluded a very popular package from their repo for political reasons instead of technical reasons. I wouldn't trust it.

Perhaps the best daily driver for security and low system resources. Not as easy out of the box as Debian/Ubuntu/Fedora.

It is pretty straightforward to install, but this tutorial is a straightforward way to ensure it works on VirtualBox: https://linuxiac.com/void-linux-installation/

Thank you for the step-by-step guidance it was really helpful.

Stable, extremely fast, and unique it doesn’t imitate or fork from any other distribution. Many thanks to everyone involved in developing this distribution, I highly recommend trying it.

Amazing minimal, BSD-feeling Linux Distro.

Void Linux is an amazing minimal rolling-release distribution. @ab1's review say it's slow in updating, but Void is rolling release and updates fast.

Void is minimal and uses a BSD-Like init script instead of systemd. It's not a fork of any distribution either.

Review from a new or low-activity account — shown here, but not counted in the app rating.

Void Linux is quite slow in updating even the most important packages. Not good for my usage. Might be good for you...

What is Void Linux?

Void is a general purpose operating system, based on the monolithic Linux kernel. Its package system allows you to quickly install, update and remove software; software is provided in binary packages or can be built directly from sources with the help of the XBPS source packages collection.

It is available for the Intel x86®, ARM® and MIPS® processor architectures; Software packages can be built natively or cross compiling through the XBPS source packages collection.

Not a fork!

Void Linux is an independent distribution, developed entirely by volunteers. Unlike trillions of other existing distros, Void is not a modification of an existing distribution. Void's package manager and build system have been written from scratch.

Rolling release

Install once, update daily. Your system will always be up-to-date. Thanks to our continuous build system, new software is built into binary packages as soon as the changes are pushed to the void-packages repository.
