Extremely convenient x509 key and certificate management application. Also able allows to manage PKI and it is compatible with most PKCS11 PKI tokens.

i love xca because it makes it easier for me to stay organized and keep certs/keys/crls neat. also, templates are great! once i got the hang of it, i fell in love. even helped me to get a handle on making a private CA. and it's free! thank you to Christian Hohnstädt

I've used XCA for over 5+ years and even though the GUI seems a little outdated it does a great job, specially when having to convert certificates between different encoding types to use in different appliances.

What is xca - X Certificate and Key management?

X Certificate and Key management is an interface for managing asymetric keys like RSA or DSA. It is intended as a small CA for creation and signing certificates. It uses the OpenSSL library for the cryptographic operations.

This application is intended for creating and managing X.509 certificates, certificate requests, RSA, DSA and EC private keys, Smartcards and CRLs. Everything that is needed for a CA is implemented. All CAs can sign sub-CAs recursively. These certificate chains are shown clearly. For an easy company-wide use there are customiseable templates that can be used for certificate or request generation. All crypto data is stored in an endian-agnostic file format portable across operating systems.
