I really don't see anything wrong here; you can just search for a specific version of any Android app, and you can download the APK for it. Useful for if you wish to stop applying updates to apps, but I would exercise caution in doing so just to be safe.
A couple of very minor issues.
APKMirror is very useful to download an apk of a specific app version. I never worry about viruses on APKMirror.
