For me it's superior to Spotify & Co for one reason: it is the only streaming service offering true hi-res lossless audio (24bit/48kHz) without charging more for any "audiophile subscription model" shenanigans. Also fun stuff like Dobly Atmos and 3D audio. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ A better Windows version and the ability to delete my goddamn cache (!!) and I'd give 5★.
The key feature I like is finding in which playlists a track is. This brings back memories, since I associate playlists to periods of my life. Also the design is way better than Spotify or Deezer.
I highly recommend AM to everyone who listens to a lot of different music and wants to maintain an overview over his library. Library management tools (integrated into iTunes on Windows) including metadata editing and sorting, creating smart playlists based on metadata, keyboard shortcuts, customizeable interface and views are miles ahead of any other streaming service. Also provides option to upload your own song files and stream them from all other devices, so often I just download some missing songs from YouTube and reupload them here and they appear like any other song. Don't recommend for the average/social music listener because it still lacks social features, good song recommendations and remote control like Spotify has.
Apple Music is an exceptional music streaming service that offers an extensive library, seamless integration with Apple devices, and personalized playlists. The sound quality is superb, and the user interface is intuitive. It's a top choice for music enthusiasts.
I would drop it, if it wasn't for the content. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, once said: "Music's always been at the heart of Apple. It's deep in our DNA." Well, then Apple must be close to its end. The disappointing performance, reliability issues, confusing navigation and error-proneness makes you wish for iTunes to come back. Managing public playlists is a plain awful matter of luck for random errors not to occur. Across watchOS, macOS and iOS the latter still offers the best experience. If you have a niche taste and just want to tap in to new tunes of your genre, you might consider the curated content annoying which it constantly tries to rub in your face.
Music viewer with lyrics is very beautiful, you can get 3 months free if you use Shazam, and 6 months free with AirPods/Beats. I love that it's very easy to add songs to AM with Shazam, just use Shazam to recognize a song and you can add it directly to your playlist. If you use Windows, I recommend the Cider client for AM.
