This is not an OS, it is a collection of scripts and tools to try and make Windows better.
The team does great work and I love what they are doing, but this isn't an operating system.
Actively in the process of installing it now on an Am1 Athlon 5350 system so far the install is proceeding easily not too convoluted and am currently 15 minutes into the install. i had a good lol when it tells me its "Reticulating Splines"..
success! after a good hour of it doing its thing its finally done. off the get go the amd hdmi hd audio stopped giving sound after install so uninstalling and reinstalling the amd catalyst fixed that. not having installed another browser prior to this its Deletion of Edge While in the long run a good thing.. uh now i have to port a file manually to install chrome or opera or firefaux or brave ect for once a windows that doesn't have a crap browser to download a better browser.. ... and the home network bits seem to have gone as well.. soo cant just easily drag and drop the browser install over from another system on the network. But Despite those little hitches. it DOES make World of Tanks play a little nicer on this little Athlon 5350. the opening of various programs and games seems faster. the cpu does perform better having the various things disabled. i cannot deny that. over all yeah 4 stars not a Flawless execution but easy enough to work around. and it is what i wanted !
side note when it goes bust and you need to run a windows repair.. well all the crap that atlas removes comes flooding back.. so if you want the bloat back just run a system repair and it'll install all the bloat all over again.. instantly cured by just running the atlas install again.
a few days in to atlasOS usage all good nothing bad to report. one start up blue screen but im pretty sure it was related to intel XMP memory timing thing being enabled .. on an AMD system lol .. disabled and set memory speeds accordingly in the bios and booting and loading proceeded as regular.
