When I tested it the first time, the desktop app wasn't up to date and bugged on my screen.

But then I gave it a second try, to the web version this time - and the feeling was just right compared to other Matrix clients and stuff worked nicely.

So it still needs work, but I hope the attention it gets will make the progress on features get quicker. The two big WIP as of February 2026 is voice calls (it's almost done) and the desktop version (switching to Tauri v2 notably).

really pretty interface and love the minimalism. but lacks several features and important ones related to account management.

minimal and aesthetic, but honestly slow and buggy. only available for few platforms, desktop app is more buggy than the web version. does not support pinning messages. does not allow pasting images from clipboard, which is really inconvenient.

overall it seems to be still in development, but i love how it looks. really elegant

This is incredibly underrated. Cinny is quite fast, with a sleek UI, popular, and probably what most people are looking for when they go to Matrix for an alternative to Discord.
