The main reason why I use dBeaver is the possibility of making the physical model of the data from any relational database.

Multi-platform due to Java. Connects to various database engines. Various plugins supported due to the JetBrains ecosystem. With Microsoft Sql Server the user has to select the text of a script instead of running a script due to problems with the 'GO' keyword. I blame the closed-source nature of the engine for that. Also the table data inspector is a life saver. Much more better and advanced than the one existent in Microsoft Sql Management Studio. You can actually save/edit values instead of going to another window and creating the SQL statement to edit a single value.

What is DBeaver?

DBeaver - Universal Database Manager and SQL Client. DBeaver is free and open source universal database tool for developers and database administrators.

Usability is the main goal of this project, program UI is carefully designed and implemented. It is based on open source framework and allows writing of various extensions (plugins). It supports any database having a JDBC driver. It may handle any external data source which may or may not have a JDBC driver. There is a set of plugins for certain databases (MySQL, DB2, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra and Redis in version 3.x) and different database management utilities (ER diagrams, data migration, metadata editors, etc).
