Is Delta Chat compatible with SMS text messaging? In other words, can I send and receive messages to and from phones that do not have Delta Chat installed? The FAQ does not mention SMS, and the homepage says that Delta Chat works via email.

DeltaChat is an email client with a chat-client interface and built-in encryption. It's like Spike, but free and open-source.
