EShot is a free and open-source screenshot and screen recording utility for Windows and Linux.
It provides region and monitor capture, multi-monitor and high-DPI support, and an annotation overlay with pen, arrows, lines, shapes, text, highlighting, blur, counters, an eraser, and a color picker.
EShot also includes Tesseract OCR, visual image search, screenshot uploads, always-on-top pinned captures, configurable global shortcuts, and command-line controls.
Selected regions can be recorded as GIF or MP4 with configurable FPS, quality, and duration. MP4 recording can also include desktop audio and microphone audio.
On Linux, EShot supports KDE Plasma 6 and GNOME on Wayland. Wayland screenshot and recording support uses XDG Desktop Portal and PipeWire.
EShot is released under the MIT License.
