What is GalleryID?

GalleryID is an ingest, cull and delivery app built for photographers who have to hand over named, captioned files on deadline — sports, school and event work where "who is that" is the slow part.

It writes the athlete's name and the complete caption line directly into the file. Metadata is spliced in as the file is written, so there is no second pass that re-reads and rebuilds the photo, and copies run across a pool of workers rather than one file at a time. XMP is written as the primary with the legacy IPTC-IIM mirror, because agency tooling and wire services still read IIM on JPEGs.

Identification works two ways. Start from a roster and one press writes the name. Or run MatchID, its sports-specific facial recognition, over the keepers after culling — anything it is unsure of waits for your click rather than guessing. MatchID is deliberately not part of ingest: cull first, then identify the photos you kept.

Everything runs locally. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored on anyone else's server.

Also includes token-based renaming, folder patterns, per-folder numbering, and export and delivery without the metadata loss that re-encoding usually causes.
