Genealogy for Linux, really powerfull but not so easy to use when you need to tag records and export them (for example, if I need to export all my chidren ancestors, adding only the branches that lead to our close cousins - and not the many branches that come from all the ancestors); for that, you need to create several filters). The Windows version works well but the soft needs to install a lot of files, and is slow at lauching. Just tried: a little more than 30 seconds on my PC with Pentium j2900, 4 cores 8 GB memory.

Gramps is free and open source. It has many customizable settings that allow users to adapt the program to their needs. The user can add and edit fields, as well as customize report types. Gramps allows you to record extensive information about family members, such as dates, photos, sources, relationships, and more. The program interface is inconvenient. There are many functions and settings that can confuse not only a novice but also an experienced user. When working with large databases, Gramps uses a significant amount of computer resources, which can result in its slower performance. There is no built-in function for exporting/importing genealogical data from popular online databases. You cannot create printable family tree images, which limits your visualization options.
I like Gramps because it's helping me creating and publishing my family tree as an individual website
Free, well-featured, regularly updated, and some potentially useful 3rd-party addons.
Its powerful, lots of great feature. It is also hard to understand and could use more documentation. I think its worth the learning pain.
I will love Gramps if you can tell me how large a family tree can grow to? my current tree is almost 1.7 million entries.. Thank you for your valuable time.

Its limitless, all depends on your choose database, PostgreSQL is very big in storing big amount of data.
