What is Grayslate?

Grayslate is a free, open-source desktop scratchpad for developers. It recognizes pasted code and data, suggests useful transformations, automatically chooses filenames and extensions, and saves new slates locally as you type.

It includes more than 80 offline transformations for JSON, CSV, Base64, hashes, encoding, text, numbers, dates, and code formatting. Grayslate can open text and CSV files up to 200 MB and includes a Rust-backed virtualized CSV table, JSON path/key/value copying, Markdown preview, multiline find and replace, syntax highlighting, and searchable saved slates.

All processing stays on the device. Grayslate requires no account and uses no cloud upload or telemetry. Desktop builds are available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
