Hallig

Speak and Hallig will write it down. The text is automatically saved to your clipboard. Open the app, it's recording. Tap Done and paste the text wherever required. Hallig doesn't alter your words, it retains the original text. It offers transcription, not interpretation.

Hallig operates on your device. It doesn't require an account, cloud, analytics or tracking. Your voice never leaves your device. The recognition model is downloaded once and then works offline.

In Privacy Mode, the text goes to your clipboard and neither the recording nor the text is saved. The app features include automatic clipboard saving, live read-along, searchable history, and options to play, copy, share or delete the recording. It supports up to 99 languages and is available for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

Quick access features include Siri and Shortcuts, Action Button, and Widgets. You can also record on your Apple Watch. The recording is converted to text and saved to the clipboard when your iPhone is nearby. Both devices need the same Apple Account, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on.

The built-in recognition supports around 22 languages. For more languages, download a model: Parakeet for 25 European languages, WhisperKit for up to 99.

The app is free for 5 dictations a day and retains history for the last 7 days. The Pro version offers unlimited dictations and full history. Hallig doesn't require a subscription as it has no servers or running costs.
