I've been using Hourglass for a few months now and I've questioned myself several times why I ever wasted time with timer apps on Android (or the built-in windows tool called "Alarms & Clock") without looking up better alternatives beforehand. When I've hit the maximum limit of pre-configured timers on the native Windows application, I was annoyed enough to look for alternatives - and I've found it.
Hourglass is FOSS done right: It covers all the features you want from your dedicated timer app, looks sleek and has a dark theme. Thanks to the "smart input" implementation, I've been using this app for basically everything since I don't even have to lift my hands off the keyboard to start a new timer.

I dislike Hourglass solely because of its single, feeble, high-pitched beep-beep sound. At least, Snap Timer has a loud buzzer that gets my attention.
This is only a countdown timer. It should put a shortcut on desktop.
This is exactly the kind of app I like on my devices.
I have disabled most of the Windows apps that spy on you, and wanted a basic timer to remember things.
Although I would prefer something like the basic Android/Pixel clock for everything, this is good as a timer.
You can download it as a portable app, at only 1 MB in size.
To "uninstall" you just delete the file.

Hourglass runs on Windows but not iPhone. Can anyone recommend a similar timer for iPhone?

This is the third one of your 'it doesn't run on apple/Mac/iphone' posts I've come across on here. This is not a valid reason for a negative review/comment. The Hourglass website CLEARLY states at the top of the page, "The simple countdown timer FOR WINDOWS".
Your comment is the equivalent of looking at a pickup truck and saying, "Well, it's not a Lamborghini (down vote)." The truck never claimed to be a Lamborghini. Just like the pickup truck, this app never claimed to work on apple products; down voting it just messes up the rating system because you don't know how to use it correctly.
If an app here doesn't meet your OS criteria, keep looking instead of down voting every app that doesn't work on the OS you want it to.

Pardon me, I didn't expect my question about timer apps to cause any conflict. I never downvoted this app or gave it any rating at all.
Also works as a handy years-to-hours converter.
Joking aside, it does what it's meant to, it's FOSS, and it even has a dark theme. What more could you ask for?
