Inkbound is an AI roleplay chatbot where the AI genuinely becomes the character you create and talks to you in first person. It is not a story-narration tool: the AI is the character, and you are yourself (or a persona) talking to them.
You build a character with as much or as little detail as you like, personality, voice, appearance, backstory, goals, powers, and relationships, then step into a conversation with them. Characters have a strong, persistent memory: they hold on to what happened earlier in a session, remember what you have said and done together, and let it shape how they act later, so a session feels like talking to a consistent, living person rather than resetting every message.
Features include:
Simple guided character creation or a full advanced mode, with character art
Characters that remember and grow over the course of a session
Reusable worlds and settings you can carry across chats
Personas (talk as a defined version of yourself) plus an out-of-character channel for stage directions
Per-message fork, edit, delete, and regenerate, with alternate-take paging
A Discover feed of published characters, a personal roster, pinned chats, and archiving
Real-time streaming replies and selectable AI models per chat
Accounts, characters, and chats are private to each user. Inkbound is a Noctaire project.
