I really do like its simplicity and clean UI. There are just 3 design elements you can interact with: text area, calendar, and search. Text area supports plain-text notes (no Markdown) that are saved when switching to a new date or using
Ctrl+Shotkey. The output format for notes is .txt, which means that you can read them on any device without getting stuck with a particular journal system (with their own unique notes format). Furthermore, .txt format makes import a not required feature, as you can create notes in your favorite text editor and Journee will add them to its calendar by highlighting the corresponding date. Search is not instant but works great. The only thing that is missing but may be useful is encryption or password protection.
