What is KeySim?

KeySim is a text-expansion utility for Windows 10/11 that runs in the system tray and expands typed abbreviations (default prefix //) into longer text in any application. It was built as a replacement for the discontinued ShortKeys by Insight Software Solutions and imports ShortKeys .shk data files, backups and .wcfg preferences directly, converting legacy keystroke commands automatically.

Features: prefix or suffix-key triggers, per-key and global program scoping, keystroke commands (Enter, Tab, Ctrl-combos, dates, clipboard), playback via simulated keystrokes or clipboard paste, AES-256-encrypted shortkey library, shortkey sharing between PCs with merge (OneDrive or network shares), a stay-awake Caffeine mode, PIN lock, portable version, and a code-signed per-user installer that needs no admin rights.

KeySim is a one-time purchase (Personal/Pro/Business) with a full-featured 30-day free trial - no account or card required.
