Streamers are almost never banned, and even if they are, they are only temporary. This does not need to be a bad thing, but there are many streamers on Kick who are banned from almost every platform, or at least the content they stream. I would really like Kick to be a competitor to Twitch, because Twitch becomes worse every day, but Kick is more than 100 times worse than Twitch.
Literally the trash of Twitch…
Kick excels at being a non-biased platform that isn't overloaded with political brain-rot and has people playing games and having a great time on there. Politics isn't even a top-10 category! Unfortunately, the platform has issues with IRL streamers causing issues in their communities. Kick has gotten better about its moderation, but clearly they're still trying to balance out moderation and creative freedom. They're getting better, though. Also, there seems to be little in the way of moneymaking outside of scoring a contract or getting donations. While Twitch has too many ads, Kick does need to deploy a (preferably user-controlled) advertising system.
Still, for such a young platform, they've been growing leaps and bounds, and there's no doubt that things are only going to get better as time goes on.
It apparently runs on Amazon web services, Amazon, which owns Twitch. So its already kind of iffy as an alternative. Also has an issue with users hosting pirated content as "watch parties" and owners enabling users to hose said pirated content.
Kick is useless. No streamer messaging. Which minimizes discussion and interaction.
It's a gambling site trying to clone Twitch. Hands off that shit, would never use it.
