It needs phone number for registration (exactly identifies you). Searching and looking into content from the outside (without registrating & logging in) is cumbersome. That's how it's different from e.g. Twitter or Gab, that are open systems. Parler is like a closed box, a data-collecting trap: you go in and disappear from the outside world.
It was a cesspool of virulent hate when around. Good riddance.
Not really "free speech", it just censors people in a different way (I cont expect to find true free speech on the clear-net tho, so I give that a pass). Also, not a fan of giving out my phone number to sign up for stuff.
Easy to use, respectful discourse, many great middle of the road people and global leaders. easy to block extremist trouble makers
Is a platform for extremists cultivating hate and violence
While Twitter stands for censorship of inconvenient opinions, Parler stands for freedom of speech.
